The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Romania and the World Conference on "Civilizations and Welfare of the Human Family"

From 9 to 10 September 2011 Romania hosted the first World Conference on Civilizations and Welfare of the Human Family, event organized by the Foundation of the Supreme Council for Romania to commemorate 130 years since the founding of the AASR Supreme Council for Romania.

Among the invited speakers were: Albert Guigui (Chief Rabbi of Brussels), T. Obenga (Personal Representative of the President of Congo-Brazzaville - Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Congo), Serge Reynes (Member of French National Grand Lodge), Ngawang Samten (Personal Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama), Yuri Balam (Researcher and Professor at the University of Quintana Roo, Mexico) etc.

Mrs. Melania Medeleanu opened the conference and introduced the President of the Foundation. During the opening ceremony was sung the national anthem of Romania (in the center the former Minister of Culture - photo above). The presidium was occupied by the President and Vicepresident of the Foundation and by Toader Paleologu (former Minister of Culture and actual Vicepresident of the the ruling party). Also, Mr. Emil Constantinescu (former President of Romania) was one of the members of the presidium.

According to the communique issued by the FSCR, at the event also attended the diplomatic corps accredited in Romania, at Ambassador (photo above) and Secretary level (Peoples Republic of China, Federative Republic of Brazil, Macedonia, Israel, Palestine, Spain, United Mexican States, Republic of Moldova, Wallonie-Brussels, Poland, Philippines etc.), Representatives of the Minister of National Defense and of the National Bank of Romania, Minister State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, the Secretary-General of the Masonic Press Agency of Romania and Professor Emil Corni?escu (representative of the Romanian Orthodox Church Patriarch), representatives of the Noble and Chivalric Orders in Europe, Grand Lodges and Supreme cCuncils from the Western Hemisphere, Europe, Africa and Asia etc.

After the speech of Mr. President Emil Constantinescu (photo above) was invited to chair the Grand Rabbi of Brussels and to present his conference on Judeo-Christian civilization.
