Are there any military brethren here? I am a civilian who served 4 roto's in Afghanistan for DND and was awarded the General Service Medal.

I was wondering if any military brothers wear their medals in lodge or if this is a big 'no-no'. What is the protocol?

Its a big no-no, but not

Its a big no-no, but not because of any Lodge protocol. Check the CFAO's for regs on the wearing of decorations. I'm pretty sure they can only be worn on your DEU's. Thats only valid while you are still in the CF however. You will always see Legion members wearing them on their uniforms too.

I've never seen them worn in lodge by any retirees though.

The constitutions mention

The constitutions mention what types pins/medals may be worn in the lodge; military medals are not not part of the approved pins/medals except on a lodge night that is having a Remembrance Day service.

I do not think that this ban is meant as a slight to veterans, but rather an attempt to keep focus on the craft during lodge.

There is an exception for civilian and military orders on remembrance services though.
